1. What are the event hours?
Access to the venue starts at 10 am to 10 pm with all guests off the grounds by 11 pm. Event hours vary per package but are either 2-hour, 4-hour, or 6-hour blocks.
4. Does the venue come with tables and chairs?
YES! Our custom 8 ft x 4 ft King Spindle Tables come standard with all events as well as your choice of 60" round tables and our beautiful Cane Back Louis Chairs!
6. Can I purchase and serve my own alcohol?
Many clients choose to purchase their own alcohol and use one of our Approved Caterers for bartending services. Outside bar services may be approved with proof of $1,000,000 liquor liability insurance. No self-serve alcohol is allowed.
7. Are there any other alcohol restrictions?
Darlington House does not allow cash bars or tip jars. While we do allow hard alcohol to be served, we do not allow kegs, shots, or “neat” drinks.

Checks are the best form of payment. Please write the brides last name, wedding date, and what the check is for in the memo line.

Credit cards are accepted with an additional 3% convince fee up-charge.
2. What is your maximum capacity?
Our maximum capacity for an outdoor ceremony and reception with indoor access is 150 guests. For indoor solely fully seated comfortably up to 95 guests. Our onsite Double Sailcloth tent easily seats up to 150 guests for an elegant reception dining space.
5. Can I choose my own caterer?
Yes, you can! While we have a list of highly qualified caterers, our only real requirement is that your caterer is a licensed and insured company that is willing to sign our vendor agreement and follow our venue operating terms.

Many clients choose to purchase their own alcohol and use one of our Approved Caterers for bartending services. Outside bar services may be approved with proof of $1,000,000 liquor liability insurance. No self-serve alcohol is allowed.
8. Where should my guests park?
433 Bishop has limited on-site parking. Please inquire for details. Each event is different and we will manage parking case by case. There are approximately 55 spaces available for complimentary self-parking. There is currently no on-site, daytime parking.
11. Can we bring our own decorations in for the 1616 House to set up?
Darlington House is located in a residential neighborhood and the city does enforce a 10 pm noise curfew. We allow acoustic musicians and DJs, no live amplified music. Our Venue Attendant will also occasionally read a decibel meter on the street in front of the house throughout the evening to ensure that we are being respectful neighbors.
3. What does the venue rental fee include?
The venue rental fee includes the use of the gardens and patios, 1st floor of the house and/or 2nd floor or the house, Ballroom, Music Room, Dining Room, (6) Restrooms, and kitchen during your event as well as four hours of vendor set-up time prior to your event (and an hour of breakdown time afterward). For weddings, the wedding party also receives access to the upstairs suites for getting ready.
