Cristina Cadden

Owner/Event Designer

She is: determined, strong, and compassionate

After earning her B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University in 2013, Cristina applied to the Homeland Security Master's Program which she ultimately did not get accepted into. Her mentality on life has always resembled the board game Shoots & Ladders, in which life has endless paths & doors for where you can forge your own way.

With that first real "failure" under her belt, she became determined to live a life filled with joy and doing whatever makes her heart fullest. Shortly after her own wedding to husband, Spencer, in 2014, Cristina established CC Vintage Rentals in the San Diego Wedding Industry. After successfully running her company for 5 years, she was inspired by Southern Living to move to the South in search of a stunning Historic Wedding Venue. 

That's where she stumbled upon the 1616 House and not only fell in love with the house, but with Montgomery as well. She cannot wait to help create your ultimate dream event!

Amanda Hayes

Venue Manager

She is: sassy, organized, and heart-centered
After moving from New Jersey to California with a Botany degree, Amanda began working as a wedding floral designer balancing her love for both science and creativity. Armed with her wedding industry experience, a natural ability to de-stress her brides and grooms, and always looking for another reason to make a spreadsheet or checklist, she opened Sassy Little Bee Wedding Planning & Coordination in San Diego.
Throughout more than a decade of carefully curating a strong and supportive network of vendors and venues, her Sassy Little Bee brand gained local recognition and expanded into private estate venue management. 
With the impact of the 2020 pandemic allowing the space for Amanda and her husband to re-evaluate their long term plans, they made the decision to make Montgomery their new home and The 1616 House the newest 'member' of their family. 

As the Venue Manager, Amanda is here to guide you through all of the details and logistics of hosting an event at The 1616 House, and she looks forward to making you a checklist and a floorplan and a timeline and some spreadsheets...
